Hamilton Underwriting has confirmed the hire of Barbican's
former head of casualty Stuart Quinlan and Starstone's
(previously Torus) ex head of space Dr Sima Adhya, the firm
announced today (25 November).
Quinlan has been appointed as head of professional lines and
deputy active underwriter, while Dr Adhya will become head of
space. Both will report to CEO Dermot O'Donohoe, pending
approval by Lloyd's for an active underwriter.

Beazley seeks relief in Cox ISP dispute
Lloyd's underwriter Beazley has applied to a US court to for a
declaratory judgement that it won't have to pay legal fees or
damages in an upcoming internet piracy court case involving its
insured, US internet service provider (ISP) Cox Communications.
The case revolves around an ongoing dispute between Cox and
music publishing, rights and recording giants BMG Rights Management
and Round Hill Music. The latter have accused the ISP of failing to
forward infringement notices or block the accounts. -

Claims specialist Crawford & Co has unveiled a new operating
structure designed to simplify its internal operations and enhance
profitability.
Ian Muress, former head of Emea, has been given the additional
responsibility of Canada and Latin America, and has become CEO of
international operations.
The remaining business unit heads will retain their current
roles. They are: Larry Thomas, CEO of US P&C and contractor
connection; Danielle Lisenbey, CEO of third-party administrator

ACR opens Shanghai office
ACR Capital Holdings (ACR) has today (25 November) opened its
Shanghai representative office, led by chief representative Dr Yao
Jianzhong.
The office is ACR's first on mainland China, and will bring
the carrier closer to establishing an onshore reinsurance presence
in the country.
Dr Jianzhong, who joined ACR in 2011 and previously held the
position of head of economic research and China client relationship
manager, will focus initially on market research and liaison
services at the new office. -
Ace's Hudson moves to trade credit role
Julian Hudson, Ace's chief development officer for political
risk and trade credit products, has been appointed head of trade
credit, Ace Global Markets.
Hudson has worked at Ace since 2007 and spent seven years in the
Asia Pacific region launching the company's political risk and
trade credit office in Singapore.
Prior to joining Ace Hudson worked at JLT Asia and Euler Trade
Indemnity in the UK.
In his new role he will continue to be based in London,
