    Anchor Hanover, England’s largest provider of care and housing for older people, has been formed from the successful merger of Hanover Housing Association and Anchor Trust.
     
    With more than 60,000 homes across 1,700 locations supported by more than 9,000 colleagues, the new organisation formally launches today (Monday 3 December). Anchor Hanover Group, usually shortened to Anchor Hanover, operates in more than 90% of local councils in England.

    UK Funders, including Alzheimer’s Society, have united with 15 countries across Europe, Australia and Canada to support international research collaborations into diseases of the brain, including those that cause dementia.   • Ipswich care home residents have been playing detectives

    Residents and staff at Handford House care home in Ipswich have been playing detectives at a Murder Mystery event, held at the home.
    The team hosted a special ‘Murder in the Manor’ evening, inviting residents, friends and relatives to join them for food, drink and entertainment, working together to solve clues and discover who murdered ‘Ginger Whiskers’.

    THE BORO Foundation has been sending out memorabilia boxes to care homes to help residents with dementia reminisce.
     
    The boxes containing old programmes, tickets and photos, among other items from past Middlesbrough FC games, have been the centre of activities run at the homes.
     
    Mandale House Care Home, on Acklam Road, in Thornaby, was one of those benefitting from the scheme.
