    Overseas recruitment is vital to maintain appropriate staffing levels in Scotland’s care home sector, a leading Scottish care provider said today.
     
    Meallmore, which operates 23 care homes across Scotland, estimates about five per cent of its nursing staff are from overseas. Recruiting from the EU and beyond is now a regular management process and is becoming more and more essential as the result of a worldwide shortage of nurses.

    Amadeus Care Home in Eccles, part of the B & R Care Group, recently celebrated two amazing milestones. Sue Bennison, Care Coordinator celebrated 25 years of service whilst celebrating her 75th birthday with the residents and staff.
    Sue started her career at Crumpsall Hospital before moving on to Eccles, Patricroft and Green Lane Hospital. She started work at Amadeus in May 1993 as a care assistant and has progressed to her current role as Care Coordinator.
