We get behind the wheel of the new Peugeot 208 in prototype form to see if it can drive as well as it looks...The Peugeot 208 doesn’t need much introduction. It’s the bread and butter of the small car world, along with key rivals like the Vauxhall Corsa (which now shares its platform and powertrains with this all-new 208) and Ford Fiesta.

Porsche 718 Cayman/ 718 Boxster - best performance cars
To call the 718 Cayman the poor man's Porsche is to do the car a great disservice. The Cayman manages to deliver the kind of sure-footed handling fun that makes any driver feel like a natural behind the wheel.
The core of the range has switched to a turbocharged flat-four engine, but while it doesn't sound as thrilling as the old flat-six, it hasn't done anything to spoil the driving experience. The car's mid-engined layout is perfectly balanced, with fluid steering and lots of confidence-inspir -
McLaren 570S - best performance cars
The 570S sits in McLaren's more 'affordable' Sports Series range, offering supercar good looks and performance with a touch of everyday usability.
McLaren's most popular model is priced at around £150,000, and has a 562bhp twin-turbo V8 engine offering enough pace for even the keenest driver. It may not have the addictive soundtrack of its Italian rivals, but you'll hardly notice when dispatching 0-62mph in an eye-watering 3.1 seconds and racing on to a top speed of 204mph.SEE MO -

Ferrari F8 Tributo - best performance cars
When Ferrari decides to produce a new model, you know it's going to be better in pretty much every way than the car that preceded it. So, with the F8 Tributo, it's probably best to get straight into the numbers.
As a replacement for the 488 GTB, the Tributo produces 710bhp – 49bhp more than the GTB – and a huge 770Nm of torque. It's 40kg lighter and 10% more aerodynamically efficient, able to create more downforce without unwanted extra drag.

If you love performance cars, you'll understand how special the Aston Martin brand has become, and how capable the manufacturer is of producing awesome driving machines. The quality of cars today is so good that customers are keeping them longer which is hurting new car sales, says Mike Rutherford So well designed, brilliantly built, impressively reliable and stubbornly long-lasting are many of the cars made during the past decade or so, that owners are increasingly unwilling to ditch them – even when their motors breach 100,000 miles.
