Parking fines issued by private firms rise 24%
Private parking firms issued 24 per cent more tickets to British drivers in the 2019-20 financial year than they did in 2018-19.
The DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) handed out 8.4 million sets of vehicle keeper data to private parking companies in 2019-20 - at a cost of £2.50 per record - compared with 6.8 million in the previous financial year.
