• Fun & Games at the Juniors’ Presentation Event

    The last day of June saw some 70 players and family gathered at TBC for the annual Presentation Evening.  This took a different format from earlier years with the first two and a half hours spent playing some fun badminton, a bit of table tennis and the relatively new sport of pickleball.  Parents and other family members were keen to join in, with some notable performers on the TT tables.

  • 17-21 ECC – York RI – Team Northumberland

  • LUCY & JOSH RETAIN GOLD TITLE

    The annual Northumberland Championships, part of the Badminton England Senior Gold Circuit, saw some 80 of the best players on the circuit congregate at the Tyneside Badminton Centre, with 41 entries in the Open Singles the most for some time.     Parabadminton star Will Smith, who recently won medals competing in Europe, picked up more medals at the recent UK National Parabadminton Championships. He took the Men’s Doubles title for the third time, and also was runner-up in both the Men’s Singles and Mixed Doubles. Well done Will!!! 
  • National U17 Success for Lucy

    Congratulations to Northumberland’s Lucy Dodd who today became U17 mixed doubles national champion with Dan Kemp from Cumbria.Lucy was also runner up in the girls doubles with Grace Sachdeva from Yorkshire only losing out 21-19 in the third set.Dan was also boys doubles champion.Well done Lucy.
  • EUROPEAN MEDALS FOR WILL

    Northumberland’s Para badminton star Will Smith, who is a member of St Gabriels BC, recently travelled to Rotterdam, where he took part in the Para European Games, a multi-sport event.  Badminton was one of the featured sports.  Will had a very successful trip, winning a bronze medal in Men’s Singles and a silver medal in Men’s Doubles.Will has won numerous awards, medals and trophies both in the UK and abroad since his teenage years, and he carried the Olympic Torch

  • TWO TITLES FOR JESSICA

    The first North Tyneside Social Badminton tournament of the season took place recently in the sports hall at John Spence Community High School, North Shields. It attracted 41 players, with ages ranging from 16 up to 79!!   • BOB PEARSON RETIRES AS NBA PRESIDENT

    After 75 years of involvement in badminton, Bob Pearson has decided the time is right to retire from his post as NBA President.     Northumberland’s Lucy Dodd is having an excellent season.  Not only has she excelled in Junior tournaments, she has also recently had some outstanding results in Senior Gold events.  Lucy and Northumberland’s Josh Young lifted the Mixed Doubles title in the Northumberland Senior Gold tournament in January at the Tyneside Badminton Centre, defeating some notable pairs in the process.  They then went on the reach the final of the Mixed Doubles in the Notts Open Senior Go
