    The Aspen/Pitkin County Airport suspended flights on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, due to wildfire activity in the area, but said on Thursday morning that despite a “Temporary Flight Restriction” in effect, airlines “expect to operate as normally as possible.”

    Evacuation orders have decreased or disappeared entirely for two Mt. Hood ski resorts positioned near the edge of Oregon’s Grasshopper Fire, which has, to date, burned over 90,000 acres.
