  New Hampshire's legislators have moved to introduce a bill banning the use of PFAS. PFAS, or polyfluoroalkyl substances are a class of synthetic chemicals used to make products water-resistant. Recent research has linked the use of PFAS to negative health affects such as cancer, high cholesterol, reproductive issues, and more.

  Spring? Skiing in a t-shirt? Never heard of it. Or, at least, California hasn’t heard of it. Ski resorts throughout the state have spent the last few days getting hammered with fresh snow. Weeklong snow totals at some mountains in Lake Tahoe, California, now exceed three feet.

• Colorado Ski Resorts Refreshed by Cold Blast of Winter

  The northern hemisphere has officially entered what's known in meteorology lore as Third Winter. A storm just dropped 12" inches of Champagne Powder on Steamboat Resort overnight and into this morning, April 2, 2025. Across the state, totals were between 5-15" with more snow on the way Wednesday night into Thursday night.

• Canadians Steal Shot Ski World Record from America

  A seven-year-old girl died at Diamond Peak Ski Resort, Nevada, on Saturday, according to local news reports and a statement shared by the mountain.The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office told the Reno Gazette-Journal that the girl was struck by a falling boulder and suffered blunt force injuries to the neck and chest.Diamond Peak Resort said in a statement that it was a "non-skiing accident."
