It Doesn't Matter If You're "Good" at Skiing
"The best resort skiing I've done in 20 years," was the claim my step-dad laid after ripping his way around Mt. Bachelor, Oregon this past Friday. It was a bold claim, even for the most epic of powder days, but particularly given the context of the conditions and his extensive ski experience. As a kid, many of my weekends were spent putzing down Cramer and Village Way at Winter Park behind my parents on their tele skis, my older brothers off in the terrain park with their friends. • A Great Season at Whiteface

Now that spring seems to have arrived, it is safe to say that this will be one of the best of my dozen years skiing Whiteface. Going into the season it seemed like management had planned to open the summit as early as possible. As in recent years, the peak of the mountain was in play right away with Paron’s Run open from the top. This was several years in the making with snowmaking upgrades that were promised and now » Read More »

New Film Confirms Ski Ballet is "Alive and Well"
A new film on the greatest discipline of skiing to exist has been released, and no, I'm not talking about Skijoring. What is the greatest discipline of skiing, you ask? Consider this: a young Izzy grew up enthralled by life's two most graceful pursuits— ballet and skiing.
Although different in many ways, the similarities between the two married perfectly in her mind. The celebration of the magic of winter (at least in the Nutcracker ballet...), the flowy and artful, yet powerful movem
