    Last Friday, February 28, 2025, a snowmobiler was killed by an avalanche northwest of Mazama, Washington, near Harts Pass, according to a preliminary report from the Northwest Avalanche Center (NWAC).They were riding with two other snowmobilers when a large slab avalanche was triggered. Two members of the group were caught and carried by the slide. The deceased was fully buried and killed. NWAC wrote that the other snowmobiler was partially buried and injured.
