    Sixty-Four People Evacuated From Ski Lift in New Hampshire
    Sixty-four passengers were evacuated from a chairlift at Cannon Mountain, New Hampshire, Wednesday after a mechanical error, according to news reports and a press statement shared by the ski area.
     A bolt affixed to the power take-off (PTO) shaft failed on the Peabody Express Quad lift at approximately 10:13 a.m., the ski area said, leading to the evacuation. Afterward, a team consisting of ski patrollers and mountain operations personnel rescued visitors from the stopped lift using ropes.
