  It seems as though McKenna Peterson never sleeps. She's known for bagging big mountain lines as a professional freeskier in the winter, and for spending summers in Alaska as a commercial fishing boat captain. Unfortunately, her annual plans changed when she suffered a serious knee injury skiing in British Columbia in April of 2024. We called up Peterson to check in on how the recovery process is going, and see how she's faring during her first summer in Idaho in years. McKenn

  The snow’s gone, and chairlift upgrade season is here. Construction is underway for Hunter Mountain, New York’s lift infrastructure improvements, which include replacing Broadway and the E Lift.Previously a fixed-grip quad lift, Broadway will become a six-person, high-speed lift this summer, increasing uphill capacity by 55%.   Considered by some metrics to be the largest ski resort in South America, Valle Nevado (Snowy Valley), Chile has started their Winter '24 season off with a bang.The resort is reporting that an astounding 64 inches (163cm) of snow has fallen in the last seven days. This brings their seasonal total to 135 inches (344cm) -- more than half of their annual average of 240 inches (609cm).
