  Last week, 37 year old Norwegian pro skier Anders Backe’s switch speed skiing world record was confirmed by Guinness. Backe hit 82.9 mph (133.46 km/h), narrowly surpassing Elias Ambühl’s 81.3 mph (131.2 km/h) record.The attempt took place at Vikersund Hill, a ski jumping course in Vikersund, Norway. • Colorado Ski Resorts Refreshed By May Snowstorm

  Colorado saw fresh snow this late in the season due to a storm that also hit Utah, delivering late-season powder as spring chugs along. Breckenridge, for example, has not declared a closing day, and it looks like their spring may be continuing in style.
