Look: Skier Stumbles Upon Unconscious Snowboarder
It's easy to forget that skiing in-bounds groomed runs can be risky. Here's a video from a few years back where a skier stumbles across an unconscious snowboarder at Breckenridge. While a scary watch, it's an important reminder to keep your wits about you, even if you're sticking to mellow groomers. The skier finds the snowboarder at the 1:25 mark.Yikes. This one is spooky, reminiscent of the clip that came out earlier this season where a skier found a snowboarder face down in a tree well. While t

William Björk might want to hit this jump with decidedly less speed next time around.Watch as he overshoots the landing by a mile and ends up in a crumpled heap on the runout to the next feature. (Don't worry, he's okay).I'm not a park guy so I won't even pretend to know what goes into assessing speed on a jump. With that in mind, how in the world does something like this happen? Was this his first attempt? Did he try multiple times prior and felt like he needed to add speed? Somebody help!W

Legendary Skier Sean Pettit Returns To Ski Hectic Line
Anyone remember Sean Pettit? Okay, that's a stupid question; anyone who's been into skiing over the last 15 years remembers Sean Pettit. It's just that over the past few years, he's seemed less interested in skiing, focusing instead on skateboarding, snowboarding, and making cool chairs. Snowboarding, skateboarding, and cool chairs are all equally as sick as skiing in my book, but Pettit's presence in the mountain scene has been sorely missed. Winter Not Done Yet: Mountain Weather update 5/2
Winter is trying to hang-on, just barely.  I'm forecasting two different storm systems through 5/11.The first storm system is currently moving at snails pace through CA's Sierra. Most of the snow hits WY, MT, UT, CO between 5/4-5/8.  Yesterday it looked like 1-2 feet of accumulation was possible, but today that pattern has changed with less jet support, different track, and less cold air.Freezing levels will gradually drop between 5/4-5/8 as colder air filters in behind each cold front.
