• Shots fired in Burlington’s Old North End; no injuries reported

  BURLINGTON — Gunshots struck an Old North End apartment where a mother and child were sleeping early Thursday, but nobody was injured, according to police.
  Police received multiple reports of gunfire around 3:30 a.m. Officers identified an apartment at 700 Riverside Ave. that was struck numerous times, according to a news release.

  RUTLAND — A Pittsford man is behind bars after prosecutors say he removed from his ankle an electronic monitoring device that he had also failed to keep charged.
