• Man drowns in Utah hot springs

  FILLMORE — Deputies have identified a man who drowned in the Meadow Hot Pots in Millard County on Friday evening.
  Witnesses called police when Shane Stewart, 49, of Fillmore, dove into the bottom of the one of the hot spring pools Friday evening and didn't resurface.
  Deputies, EMS and scuba divers found the man unresponsive several feet down in the pool. He did not regain conciousness despite rescue efforts, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

  SANDY — Police identified the contractor who was killed after a dirt wall collapsed on him Friday afternoon.
  Unified police identified the man on Twitter Saturday as Vicente Santoyo, of Salt Lake City.
  "Our deepest condolences to his family who flew in from Chicago," the tweet concluded.
  The 42-year-old worker was partially buried when heavy equipment fell on him about 2 p.m. Friday, police reported.
  Chunks of concrete and trees also fell on the man, said Unified Police Lt. Brian Lohrke.

• Weekend snowstorm clears out bad air in Utah

  SALT LAKE CITY — The weekend snowstorm is clearing out the unhealthy air quality that has permeated the Wasatch Valley throughout the past week.
  Saturday's storm was expected to send a couple inches of snow to northern Utah, said KSL meteorologist Dan Guthrie, while parts of the Wasatch Front have a chance of an inch of snow as the storm moves south Saturday evening.

  LOGAN — A man died at the hospital after a car crash one block away from Logan Regional Hospital.
  The 25-year-old man was driving a red Chevrolet Traverse with Idaho plates east on 1400 North about 4 p.m. Saturday, when an 18-year-old woman driving a Mini Cooper was waiting to turn south at a traffic light at 200 East, police said.
  As the traffic light turned yellow, the Mini Cooper turned left, and the Traverse slammed into it, Logan Police Chief Gary Jensen said.
