    The U.S. National Hurricane Center said Saturday at 11 p.m. EDT that Pablo was centered about 245 miles (394 kilometers) east of Lajes Air Base in the Azores. It has maximum sustained winds of about 65 mph (105 kph) and is moving northeast at about 29 mph (47 kph).

    WASHINGTON (AP) — Former major league umpire Chuck Meriwether, who was behind the plate when the Boston Red Sox ended their championship drought in 2004, died Saturday. He was 63.

    PHOENIX (AP) — A lawsuit filed by a Southwest Airlines flight attendant alleges pilots had an iPad streaming video from a hidden camera in an aircraft bathroom.
    The lawsuit says Renee Steinaker saw an iPad streaming video when the pilot left the cockpit to use the bathroom during a 2017 flight to Phoenix from Pittsburgh.

    LYONS, Kan. (AP) — The girlfriend of a Kansas man who fatally shot his father and wounded two Kansas law enforcement officers before killing himself has pleaded no contest to aggravated child endangerment.
    The Wichita Eagle reports that 27-year-old Erin Baker also pleaded no contest Friday to obstruction of law enforcement. A charge of interference with law enforcement was dropped. She’s expected to receive probation when she’s sentenced Dec. 18.
