TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — The professional guardian linked to the death of a 75-year-old Florida client is resigning from hundreds of guardianship cases assigned to her.
In a letter submitted Thursday to the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, Rebecca Fierle said she would not seek to be reappointed to the dozens of cases already taken from her, nor would she seek future appointments as a guardian.

US Coast Guard brings haul of seized cocaine to San Diego
SAN DIEGO (AP) — A huge haul of cocaine seized from Pacific Ocean smugglers has been brought to San Diego by a U.S. Coast Guard cutter.
More than 26,000 pounds (11,793 kilograms) of the drug was being offloaded Friday afternoon from the cutter Steadfast.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Derek Holland was acquired by the Cubs from the San Francisco Giants for a player to be named, giving the Cubs a new left-handed option out of the bullpen.

Arizona muralist Isaac Caruso worked with four Tucson students to create a mural focused on the history and culture of the Palo Verde neighborhood.
