    KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Police say a suicide bomber has struck east of the capital Kabul, the second such attack in as many days. There is no immediate word on casualties.
    Police official Jan Aga says it’s too early to identify the target of Friday’s attack that took place in Kabul’s eastern Yakatot neighborhood.
    On Thursday, six people were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up outside an Afghan army academy and training center, also in the east of the capital.

    MARANA, Ariz. – Sergeant Cread Shuey was laid to rest at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Thursday, flags flew at half staff, taps were played and the community gathered to honor a soldier who was unknown for decades.
    Sgt. Shuey fought in World War II and died in a prison of war camp in the Philippines. In 2016, Sgt. Shuey’s remains were exhumed from the Philippines where he had been buried for decades as an unknown. His remains were then sent for identification.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say an inmate has been killed at a Northern California state prison and two other prisoners are suspects in his death.
    Officials say the 63-year-old man was stabbed with a homemade weapon in an exercise yard Thursday at California State Prison, Sacramento.

    GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Police in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale say a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting last month has been arrested in Colorado.
    They say 52-year-old Karriem Seymour was taken into custody May 16 in Colorado Springs.
    He’s been extradited to Phoenix and jailed on suspicion of first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

    The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling Thursday allows environmental groups to argue for banning the ammunition in the Kaibab National Forest.
    Lead poisoning is the leading cause of death for endangered California condors that feed on animal carcasses.
