    PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Alpha Diallo scored 20 points and Drew Edwards had 13 and both made a pair of free throws in the closing seconds to help Providence defeat DePaul 70-60 on Sunday.

  • Florida hires UTSA’s David Turner as defensive line coach

    GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida has hired David Turner as the team’s defensive line coach.
    Turner, who has 33 years of coaching experience, worked with Gators coach Dan Mullen for four seasons (2009, 2010-12) at Mississippi State.
    Turner has 16 years of coaching experience in the Southeastern Conference. Mullen says Turner “understands that this is a line-of-scrimmage league and our defensive line will continue to play fast, physical and aggressive under his leadership.”

    PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) — Ryan Schwieger scored 15 points on 6-for-6 shooting with two 3-pointers and Princeton rolled to a 91-62 win over Division III Wesley College on Sunday.
    Three other players reached double figures and the Tigers (10-5), who have won five straight, played 15 players. Jerome Desrosiers had 12 rebounds as Princeton had a 52-27 rebounding advantage.

  • Former NHL captain suffers injuries in Florida bus crash

    TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A former captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning has suffered minor injuries in a bus pileup on a Florida highway.
    The Florida Highway Patrol says 38-year-old Vincent Lecavalier and two other men were taken to the hospital Saturday following the charter bus crash. Lecavalier’s agent told The Associated Press in a text message Sunday that the former center was OK. He played in the NHL for 17 seasons, including 14 with Tampa Bay.

  • Man arrested in Indianapolis bar shooting that wounded 5

    INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis police say they’ve arrested a man in connection with a bar shooting that wounded five people.
    Police announced Sunday that they arrested 38-year-old Dejuan Brown. He faces preliminary charges of two counts of aggravated battery and three counts of felony battery.
    Police say detectives learned that Brown was involved in a disturbance at the Brotherman Tavern and was removed by security but at around 2 a.m. Saturday and began firing, wounding three men
