    OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi has hired veteran coach Rich Rodriguez to be its next offensive coordinator.

    HONOLULU (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard is responding to a fire on a Panamanian car carrier in the Pacific Ocean and says some crew members abandoned the ship.
    The Coast Guard in a statement Monday says crewmembers launched a life raft and four of the 21 mariners aboard left The Sincerity Ace wearing life jackets.

    JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The University of Mississippi has agreed to return most of the $400,000 its athletic foundation was given by a businessman who pleaded guilty to a $100 million Ponzi scheme.

    WASHINGTON (AP) — Ryan Johansen had a goal and two assists, Viktor Arvidsson and Rocco Grimaldi each added a goal and an assist and the Nashville Predators scored four unanswered goals to break their six-game losing streak with a 6-3 win over the Washington Capitals on Monday.
