    TUCSON – Tucson police say they have arrested a man on murder charges after the death of a 4-month-old boy.
    Officials say 19-year-old Nicholes Liggens killed 4-month-old 4-month old Ivan Escobedo.

    MILWAUKEE (AP) — Arike Ogunbowale scored 32 points and Brianna Turner added 20 as second-ranked Notre Dame rolled to an 87-63 victory over No. 19 Marquette on Saturday.
    The Irish (11-1) gained control by outscoring Marquette 25-11 in the second quarter for a 42-29 lead at the half.
    Ogunbowale, a three-time Wisconsin high school player of the year, returned to her hometown and hit 13 of 21 shots and all five free-throw attempts.

  • Alvarez scores 23 to lead Fairfield past New Hampshire

    DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — Neftali Alvarez scored 23 points and Fairfield defeated New Hampshire 63-57 on Saturday.
    Jesus Cruz added 10 points for the Stags (3-9) and Jonathan Kasibabu had a game-high nine rebounds. Alvarez had Fairfield’s only two assists.

    LONDON (AP) — Britain’s Liberal Democrat party has announced the death of former leader Paddy Ashdown after a short illness. He was 77.
    The popular, articulate Ashdown was for decades a prominent figure in Britain and continental Europe.
    Party leader Vince Cable said Saturday that it was a “hugely sad day” and that everyone across the political spectrum “had immense affection and respect for Paddy.”

    BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) — Thousands of people have rallied in Serbia, the latest protest accusing populist President Aleksandar Vucic of stifling hard-won democratic freedoms and cracking down on opponents.
    The anti-government crowd poured Saturday into central Belgrade, blowing whistles and waving banners. Similar marches also were held the past two weekends in the biggest expression recently of discontent with Vucic’s rule.
