    BOSTON (AP) — Jordan Guest scored 15 points, Jack Hemphill added 14 with 12 rebounds and Boston University shot 70 percent from the field in the first half to run away from Division III Emerson College 94-57 on Sunday.
    Fletcher Tynen’s layup capped Boston University’s 11-2 opening run and the Terriers (2-1) hit 23 of 36 field goals and 9 of 14 3-pointers (64 percent) en route to a 57-30 halftime lead in which all 10 players scored at least three points.

  • Rural Metro Fire, Tucson Fire extinguish structure fire on Benson Highway

    TUCSON — Rural Metro Fire and the Tucson Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the area of Benson Highway and Alvernon.
    Emergency crews found a vacant building fully involved with flames, that spread to a second building.
    Crews from both departments were able to put out both fires within 15 minutes.
    There were no injuries and the cause is still under investigation.

    LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) — Bubba Parham scored 19 points, Garrett Gilkeson had 18 and VMI cruised to a 98-34 win over Division III Goucher on Sunday.
    Parham hit four 3-pointers and Gilkeson hit all three of his in going 6 of 7 from the field. Greg Parham and Jake Stephens added 14 points apiece and Myles Lewis and Connor Arnold had 12.
