    TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A former Pima County justice of the peace has been indicted for making a false tax return and telling the Internal Revenue Service that luxury sports cars he bought were business expenses for his bus company.
    Federal prosecutors say Keith Bee is facing three counts of making a false tax return and one count of corruptly endeavoring to impede the administration.

    ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A volunteer helping with cleanup on a North Carolina river was unhurt after a backpack he retrieved exploded, revealing what police described as a portable methamphetamine lab.

    WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — The U.S. flag captured on a live camera as it was being torn to shreds by Hurricane Florence has brought $10,900 at auction.
    News outlets report viewers watched the flag flying on the Frying Pan Tower get ripped apart as the storm reached the North Carolina coast last month.

    WASHINGTON (AP) — A prominent group of business economists says that the economy should grow at a healthy pace this year and next, though the Trump administration’s trade policy will likely act as a drag.

    DALLAS (AP) — The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office says it plans to retry a former suburban Dallas police officer for the shooting of an unarmed black man.
    Fired Mesquite officer Derick Wiley went on trial last month for the November 2017 shooting that wounded Lyndo Jones, but a Dallas County jury on Thursday said it was deadlocked after 10 hours of deliberation.
    Jones had been sitting in his pickup prior to the gunfire and was shot in the back twice after he started to run.
