• California Unemployment Rate Unchanged At 5.5 Percent

  SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — State officials say California’s unemployment rate held steady at 5.5 percent in September.
  The California Employment Development Department said Friday the rate has been unchanged for three months in a row.
  In September 2015 the unemployment rate was 6 percent.
  The department says employers added 30,000 nonfarm payroll jobs last month, for a total of more than 2.3 million since expansion began in February 2010.

  VACAVILLE (CBS13) – A pet waste problem on a trail off Nut Tree Road has neighbors upset. They want the piles picked up and the smell gone.

• Deputies Investigating Shooting In Arden Arcade Area

  ARDEN ARCADE (CBS13) – Deputies are investigating a shooting near the McDonald’s at Arden Way and Howe Avenue.
  Deputies are still trying to figure out where the shooting happened, but the victims ended up at the McDonald’s.
  Deputies say two people have been shot and transported to the hospital. One of those victims is in critical condition.

  PLACERVILLE (CBS13) – Authorities say 10 students were transported to the hospital for minor injuries after the bus they were riding in was rear-ended by a driver Friday afternoon.
  California Highway Patrol says the bus was on Highway 50 just west of Mosquito Road in the Placerville area. The bus was in stop and go traffic and going at only about 10 mph.

• Tracy Police Seek Woman For Fatal Hit-And-Run

  TRACY (CBS13) – Authorities are looking for a woman suspected of hitting and killing a motorcyclist in Tracy, then taking off from the scene.
  The incident happened back on Oct. 7. Tracy police say a gold or tan GMC hit the motorcyclist at the intersection of 11th Street and Lincoln Boulevard.
