  SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – Proponents say Gov. Jerry Brown is turning in nearly a million signatures for his bid to ask voters to approve new ways to reduce California’s prison population.
  The Democratic governor’s campaign submitted the signatures Friday. The campaign needs 585,000 valid signatures for a constitutional ballot measure this year.

• Parolee Arrested, Accused of Masturbating in Public

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento Police say their officers responded to reports of a man masturbating on the 1300 block of of 58th Street at approximately 5:28 a.m. Saturday.
  Upon investigating, officers say 57-year-old, Juan Quiroz, was contacted and found to have strict parole conditions.
  Quiroz, a transient, was arrested for parole violation, indecent exposure in a public place, possession of narcotics, sex offender near school grounds without lawful business.
