  LOS ANGELES (AP) – Authorities are investigating whether an electrician intentionally leaped to his death from the 53rd floor of Los Angeles’ tallest skyscraper onto an intersection humming with a normal weekday’s bustle, the coroner said Friday.

  STOCKTON (CBS13) – A 73-year-old man was stabbed during a robbery attempt in Stockton on Thursday evening, police say.
  According to the Stockton Police Department, the man was walking near Swain Road and Alexandria Place when, around 7:30 p.m., three people – including a man armed with a knife – confronted him.
  The suspects then told the man to give up his stuff, but he refused. A struggle ensued and the man was stabbed, police say.

  LOS ANGELES (AP) – California’s unemployment rate was 5.5 percent in February, continuing a slight downward trend but remaining higher than the nation’s jobless rate as a whole, state figures indicated Friday.

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The man convicted of killing a 13-year-old girl has been sentenced to life in prison.
  Ryan Roberts was found guilty on all counts back in 2015 for the murder of Jessica Funk-Haslam.
  Sacramento Superior Court says Roberts was sentenced on Friday to 25-years-to-life, plus another year for a weapons enhancement.
  Sentencing had been delayed in late 2015 due to questions over a juror’s tweets.
  Funk-Haslam was found dead at a Rosemont park in 2012.
