    CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – West Virginia Senate Republicans have added a measure to ban teacher strikes to their sweeping education proposal.
    Lawmakers in the GOP-controlled chamber approved the amendment 17-14 Sunday with heavy opposition from Democrats.
    Republican Sen. Charles Trump sponsored the amendment and said it’s meant to keep schools running. He says it’s not meant as retaliation for teacher walkouts this year and last.

    OAKLAND (KDKA) — Emergency crews are on the scene for a reported fire at the SkyVue Apartments in Oakland.
    According to responders on the scene, an electrical fire occurred in the parking garage of the building and all 14 floors of the building were evacuated.No one was stuck inside the building and no injuries have been reported.

    PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed 22-year-old Finnish goaltender Emil Larmi to a two-year, entry-level contract that runs through the 2020-2021 season.

    YORK, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a 13-year-old Florida boy died after a stabbing in Pennsylvania.
    Police say the stabbing occurred at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at a home in York. The victim was pronounced dead at about 3:17 a.m. Saturday at York Hospital.
    The York County coroner’s office identified the victim as 13-year-old Tre J. Hartman of Winter Haven, Florida, who was in the city visiting relatives.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (CBS NEWS) – Virginia Beach officials on Saturday identified the 12 victims killed in a mass shooting at the city’s municipal center. Eleven of the victims were city employees and one worked as a contractor at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center.

    PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A man in Indiana County died after a carport collapsed on him.The coroner said 52-year-old Richard Rearick was sitting on a chair underneath the covered structure when it fell and caused blunt force trauma to his head.
    Rearick’s mother reported hearing a large cracking followed by a crash outside the resident.She discovered her son stuck under the carport roof.
    The coroner says Rearick was killed instantly after being struck with the roof.

    They were trapped for several hours until a state police officer and Cool Springs manager found the baby ducks and worked to rescue them.
