  • Officials: Crime Has Dropped In Pittsburgh During The First Part Of 2019

    PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Crime has significantly decreased during the first portion of 2019.
    In an analysis released by the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Crime Analysis Unit, overall crime rates decreased by 7% compared to the same time last year.First Quarter 2019 Uniform Crime Report stat sheets for the city and six zones covering January 1 to March 31.#Pittsburgh had an overall 7% drop in incidences compared to the same time frame last year & a 12% drop compared to the 5 year average.

    PITTSBURGH (KDKA/CNN) — Tyson Foods has significantly expanded a recall of its chicken strips over concerns that some might be contaminated with pieces of metal, federal food safety officials said Friday.

    CENTRAL CITY, Pa. (KDKA) — A man who was wanted in connection to a domestic dispute in Somerset County was taken into custody Friday night.
    State troopers were sent to a home on #1 Road in Shade Township around 1:25 a.m. Thursday for a report of a domestic dispute.
    Thirty-four-year-old Justin Wade Hartman, of Central City, Pa., ran from the home with a .22 caliber rifle and allegedly fired shots from the woods at the home after troopers arrived on the scene.

  • 47 Dogs Rescued From Mercer Co. Home, 10 Dead Dogs Also Found

    PULASKI, Pa. (KDKA) — More than 50 dogs, some dead, were found in a Mercer County home Friday.
    Humane police officer Courtney Ivan says they were called to do a welfare check Thursday at a home on Grange Road in Pulaski.
    Officers tried to get into the home Thursday then returned Friday with a search warrant.
    When they got into the house, they found a total of 57 dogs. Ten of those 57 dogs were dead.
