    PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — After a grueling 30 months, 8-year-old Darran Dunlap marked the end of her cancer treatments Friday.
    Colin Dunlap, of 93.7 The Fan, says his daughter, Darran, rang the bell at Children’s Hospital, signifying the end of her treatments.
    Darran was diagnosed with leukemia when in November 2016. She was 5 years old at the time and has been undergoing treatment for 30 months.

    RACCOON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — A woman is facing charges after a six-hour standoff in Beaver County.
    It started around 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Raccoon Township.
    Raccoon Township Police officers were sent to a home on Shivler Road near Gibbs Road for a complaint of terroristic threats.
    The Beaver County District Attorney’s office says 43-year-old Deborah Shivler confronted police with threats and a firearm before barricading herself in the home.

  • Beaver Falls Man Pleads Guilty In New Brighton Bank Robbery

    PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A Beaver Falls man pleaded guilty to bank robbery charges Friday.
    The robbery happened on Aug. 17, 2018, at the Huntington Bank on 3rd Avenue in New Brighton.
    Fifty-year-old Ernest Dewayne Taylor handed the teller a note demanding money. He got away with $600 and fled on foot.
    Sentencing is scheduled for July 17.
    Taylor could face up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 or both.

    HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate dropped in February to the lowest rate since 1976, which is as far back as the state’s records go.
    The state Department of Labor and Industry said Friday that Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate dropped by one-tenth of a percentage point to 4.0 percent last month.
    The national rate was 3.8 percent in February. Among states, Pennsylvania is tied with Michigan and New Jersey for 35th.

    CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – West Virginia will receive $14.6 million in federal funds to fight opioid addiction.
    U.S. Sens. Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito announced the funding in a news release Thursday from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
    The grant funding is used by states to increase access to opioid prevention, treatment and recovery services.

    The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced in a news release Thursday.
    The recalled chicken strips are frozen and ready-to-eat.
