• Washington Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Accused Of Raping Child While On Duty

    WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) — A Washington County sheriff’s deputy has been arrested on child rape charges.
    Trent Talbert, 58, is accused of raping a 12-year-old girl while he was on duty.
    The incident allegedly occurred at Cross Creek County Park in Avella.
    The sheriff’s department immediately suspended Talbert when he was arrested.
    At one time, Talbert also worked for the police department in Houston, Washington County.

    LAWRENCE COUNTY, Pa. (KDKA) – A house in South New Castle Borough was gutted by fire on Monday evening.
    Smoke and flames were reported at the home on the 1900 block of Prospect Street shortly after 4 p.m.
    The homeowner was not home at the time of the fire after water pipes had previously burst and the furnace went out as a reult of the Polar Vortex. His insurance company was paying for him to be in a hotel while repairs were being made.

    VANDERGRIFT (KDKA) — Firefighters battled a blaze at a Westmoreland County church Monday afternoon.
    It happened just before 5 p.m. on Custer Avenue near 13th Street in Vandergrift.
    Emergency dispatchers confirm a fire broke out at the First United Methodist Church.
    No injuries were reported and no one was reported to be trapped inside the building.
    The fire had been knocked down by 5:30 p.m.
    The extent of the damage is unknown.
