    NEW CASTLE (KDKA) — Police in Lawrence County are looking for two men accused of holding up a bar in New Castle late Wednesday night.
    According to Union Township Police, the robbery happened just after 11:30 p.m. at The Branding Iron bar and grill on Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
    Police say the men went into the bar, and armed with handguns, demanded money from the bartender.

  • CDC: Number Of Babies Born With Syphilis Reaches Highest Level In 20 Years

    (CBS Local)– Cases of babies born infected with syphilis have reached a level not seen in two decades.
    According to figures released by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control Tuesday, there were 918 cases of congenital syphilis reported in 2017, the highest level since the 1990s. That’s where a pregnant mother passes on the sexually-transmitted disease to her baby.
    For comparison, there were only 99 cases of HIV in newborns reported in 2016.

    VANDERBILT (KDKA) – Three people have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Vanderbilt.
    According to the Herald-Standard, the shooting happened just before 9 p.m. on Sept. 17.
    Officers responded to the intersection of Walnut and Chester streets and found 29-year-old Tywain Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
