• Elderly Man Falls Out Of Nursing Home Window, Rolls Down Hill

  NORTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — An elderly man was rescued after falling out of a window at a Westmoreland County nursing home and tumbling down a hillside this afternoon.
  Firefighters were called around 1 p.m. to rescue the man at the Walden’s View Senior Living facility, off of Route 30.
  The man reportedly fell out of a window and then rolled about 30 feet down a hillside.
  Crews working to rescue the man lowered a basket stretcher down the hillside to get the man back to safety.

  SHENANGO TWP. (KDKA) — A man was killed Thursday morning in a Mercer County car crash.
  It happened 8 a.m. on Interstate 80 in Shenango Township, near mile post 4.5 westbound.
  State police say the victim left the side of the roadway and went about 500 feet before striking an embankment and becoming airborne.

  PENN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — A 5-year-old child was rushed to the hospital Thursday morning after being scalded in the bath.
  Westmoreland County emergency dispatchers say it happened around 8:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Sandra Drive in Penn Township.
  Police officials tell KDKA that the child was with a caregiver.
  The boy has a condition that makes him nonverbal, and he was unable to tell the caregiver that the water was too hot.
