• Man tried to lure 12-year-old girl into car

  The NYPD has released a sketch of a man who tried to lure a girl into his car in Brooklyn. The incident happened at 3:45 p.m. last Friday in the Brownsville section of the borough, said police. The man honked of a dark-colored mini-van, opened the passenger door and motioned for her to get in at Saratoga Ave. and Marion St. The girl, only 12 years old, kept walking. The man drove off.

• Shootings, murders up; NYPD launches 'Summer All Out'

  The NYPD is targeting high-crime neighborhoods in Operation Summer All Out, but police and the mayor's office say they aren't waiting until summer.  More than 330 police officers will be working peak crime shifts, from 4 p.m. to midnight and midnight to 8 a.m. The targeted areas include the 75th Precinct in East New York, Brooklyn; the 67th Precinct in East Flatbush and the 113th Precinct in St. Albans and Hollis, Queens.
