    Supportive housing opens in Bedford Park for adults with developmental disabilities
    Ten people with autism and developmental disabilities are getting their first opportunity at independent living with the opening of new supportive housing in the Bedford Park neighborhood. 
    2997 Marion Ave. and 2861 Creston Ave. are now home to ten individuals who were screened to ensure they can safely live on their own, while still receiving consistent support from Birch Family Services, a local nonprofit serving children and adults with disabilities.

    Council Member Kristy Marmorato announced Thursday that she has secured $4 million for repairs to the City Island Library that will go toward overhauling the building’s HVAC system, repairing the roof and various upgrades.

    CM Salamanca cuts ribbon on new play space at his childhood school in Longwood
    Council Member Rafael Salamanca Jr. spent his childhood at C.S. 150 in Longwood, running on the hard concrete playground. On Thursday, Nov. 14, he returned to his childhood school to cut the ribbon for a new $1 million outdoor space that includes four basketball courts, a track, soccer nets, playground equipment and more for students and the community to enjoy.
