    Mississippi Blood Services is bringing lifesaving mobile blood drives to East Mississippi this week, with a community blood drive scheduled in Kosciusko.
    A local drive will be held Friday, Aug. 14, at the Attala County Library from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome as space allows.
    Mississippi Blood Services notes that local hospital patients rely on volunteer donors, as a single donation can help save up to three lives.

    A vehicle crashed into a home on North Wells Street in Kosciusko Wednesday night just before 9 p.m. after a Kosciusko Police officer attempted to stop the vehicle.
    The driver, now identified as 26-year-old Michael Bullock of Kosciusko, fled from police and lost control of the vehicle on North Wells St. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a home, causing damage to the yard and the front of the structure.

    First responders were dispatched to several calls on Wednesday, including several downed trees and shut down traffic lights throughout the day.
    At around 5:50 AM, the fire department was dispatched to a skidder fire on Attala Roads 4167 and 4216 that spread across about half an acre of woods.
