    NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a 22-year-old software engineer was found dead at the company’s New York City headquarters.
    Scott Krulcik was found unconscious on the sixth floor of the company’s offices in Chelsea at about 9 p.m. Friday. He was pronounced dead by Emergency Medical Service workers.
    Police say there were no signs of trauma and the death does not appear to be suspicious. The city medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death.

    NEW YORK (AP) — Police say an FBI agent has been shot in the shoulder in New York City.
    New York City police say the male agent was struck while on duty at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn.

    The agent was taken to Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn and being treated for a non-life-threatening injury. No arrests have been made.

    EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — Trailing by 15 points with less than 10 minutes to go, Northwestern appeared headed for a third straight loss.
    The players, though, weren’t ready to accept that fate.
    Vic Law had 25 points, A.J. Turner added a career-high 24 and the Wildcats used a run of 25 straight points to rally for a 75-68 victory over DePaul on Saturday.
    Dererk Pardon had 10 points and eight rebounds as the Wildcats (7-3) snapped a two-game losing streak.

    OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Christian James had 14 points and a career-high 13 rebounds to help Oklahoma defeat Wichita State 80-48 on Saturday at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
    James, the Big 12’s leading scorer with nearly 20 points per game, made 3 of 6 3-pointers.
    Miles Reynolds scored 14 points, Matt Freeman scored 11 and Aaron Calixte added 10 for the Sooners (8-1).
    Oklahoma held the Shockers to 24.2 percent shooting and now have held three of its past four opponents under 60 points.

    COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Boston College’s game at Texas A&M has been canceled because of mechanical issues with the Eagles’ charter plane, complicated by bad weather.
    Texas A&M announced the game scheduled for Saturday night won’t be played.

  • Avalanche in Italian Alps kills French skier; other escapes

    ROME (AP) — Italian news reports say an avalanche in the Italian Alps has fatally struck a skier, but his girlfriend survived the snow slide.
    The Italian news agency ANSA said the French couple was skiing Saturday at 2,500 meters (about 8,200 feet) high above the town of Chamois in the northwestern Valle d’Aosta region when a mass of snow broke off a crest.
    ANSA said the man was dragged by the avalanche for 70 meters (230 feet) and was found buried under 2 meters (6 1/2 feet) of snow
