    $7 Billion Development Near United Center Set to Transform Chicago’s West Side
    The $7 billion development planned near the United Center cleared its first hurdle Thursday with unanimous approval from the Chicago Plan Commission. Named the 1901 Project for the arena’s address, the proposal promises to transform the West Side by replacing parking lots with a bustling mix of homes, businesses, and entertainment venues.
    The first phase includes a 6,000-seat theater-style music venue and a 233-room hotel, both set to be built by 2028 on the lot south of the United Center.
