Windy City Playhouse goes on the market
When Windy City Playhouse first opened on Irving Park Road in 2015, the company won nearly as much attention for its comfortable audience perks (swivel seats and food and beverage service, like a luxe movie theater) as it did for its programming, which for the most part focused on contemporary plays like Deborah Zoe Laufer’s […]

Review: What the Hell Happened to Blood, Sweat & Tears?
It's is long overdue vindication for the band, about whom Donn Cambern, director of the ill-fated concert film, succinctly states, “They really got screwed.”

Review: Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie

    Specters of material
At first glance, Tanya Aguiñiga’s “Swallowing Dirt” seems to gesture to the phantasmagoric. Her spectral rope and terra-cotta sculptures fill Volume Gallery, suspended from the walls and ceiling. She threads together her two material […]

A meditation on the flow of being
Lake Michigan has served as my compass since I moved to Chicago. I will never forget an old coworker telling me to remember “the lake is always east!” when I described how lost I’d get trying to find my way around the city. It took a few years for it to click, but once I […]

For one lifelong Bears fan, Rodgers being gone is music to his ears.
“The fact that Aaron Rodgers is out of the picture,” said Brandon Willis, “I think it’s now time to dominate the Packers first and foremost. It’s Justin Fields&rsqu
