    The City of Chicago and NASCAR Announce Traffic Plan for NASCAR Chicago Street Race
    The City of Chicago and NASCAR officials shared a traffic plan for the NASCAR Chicago Street Race, which takes place July 1–2, 2023.
    The plan provides an outline for street closures, parking restrictions, and pedestrian routes in and around Grant Park.
    As Chicago hosts the first-ever cup series street race in NASCAR’s 75-year history, residents and visitors are encouraged to be mindful of the traffic impacts, as well as safety measures in place.

    Traffic Reroute Begins at 73rd and S. Cottage Grove Avenues
    Norfolk Southern, in coordination with the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), and all other impacted utilities, announces that bridge replacement projects will begin at 73rd Street and S. Cottage Grove Avenue on Monday, April 10, 2023.
    These railroad bridges are located between South Chicago Avenue and the Chicago Skyway.  The traffic plan shows the planned reroutes along MLK Drive and 71st Street, including for the CTA’s #4 bus route.
