  • Emergency Roadway Repairs Continues On Interstate-35E

    CARROLLTON (CBSDFW.COM) – The record rain and cold is causing the pavement to come apart on roadways in parts of North Texas
    A 125-foot long surface collapse or shifting of the highway surface happened on northbound Interstate-35E in Carrollton separated near Crosby Road.
    The damaged highway led to at least five serious accidents, including one that involved a police vehicle responding to a crash in the area. The officer was not injured.

    DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A 29-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with murder after police say she intentionally pushed a man into oncoming traffic in Dallas on Thursday.
    Dallas police responded to an auto-pedestrian accident at around 9:15 p.m. in the 8400 block of Skillman Street.

    DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — A motorist’s use of marijuana and a sedative led to a collision with a church bus in Texas that killed 13 people on the bus, the National Transportation Safety Board said in a report released Tuesday.
    According to the report, toxicology tests on Jack Dillon Young, who survived the March 2017 crash, found the drugs in his blood stream. Young told NTSB officials that he had taken twice the prescribed dosage of the sedative before the wreck.

    According to officials, there were two students and the driver on board the bus at the time. The students were evacuated safely, and there were no injuries reported.

    LLANO, Texas (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Water levels are quickly dropping on a Texas river that soared above flood stage this week, destroying a bridge Tuesday, forcing evacuations and leading to multiple water rescues.
    The Llano River was just below 15 feet on Wednesday morning after cresting 24 hours earlier at almost 40 feet. Initially, forecasters expected the river to rise to near-record levels Thursday, but modified their forecast to show the river dropping below flood stage instead.
