    Latinos Count helps make college dreams come true
    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Latinos Count is helping make the dream of college a reality for Latino youth across Northeast Indiana.
    This year the nonprofit awarded the Viva College! Scholarship worth $2,000 to 26 students. The group also saw the number of applicants double from previous years.

    A luncheon planned for September 21 will recognize and celebrate all the recipients.

    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- The identity of a man shot and killed early Friday morning has been released.
    The Allen County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy that determined Travis Gilbert, 28, of Fort Wayne died from a gunshot wound to the chest and his death has been ruled a homicide.
    Gilbert was shot and killed inside a home on St. Marys Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. on September 15. Another person was also shot, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
