  • Kitten rescued from storm drain in West Hartford

    WEST HARTFORD — A kitten was rescued by firefighters Saturday evening after it was discovered in a storm drain.
    Firefighters from Quint 3 responded to Hillcrest Avenue in the Elmwood section of town.  Firefighter and Paramedic Rocco Laudato, as seen in the pictures, enter the drain and was able to retrieve the kitten.

    It is unknown how long the kitten was in the storm drain before it was rescued.

    HOUSTON — A former doctor found guilty of raping a heavily sedated patient will not serve prison time, according to the Houston Chronicle.
    On Friday, Shafeeq Sheikh was sentenced to 10 months of probation and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

    HARTFORD — Bicyclists can now catch a ride on the commuter rail line linking New Haven, Hartford and Springfield, Massachusetts.
    The Connecticut Department of Transportation has begun allowing bikes on board the CTrail Hartford Line trains. The new move comes in response to customer requests and outreach from the bicycle advocate community.
