    BRISTOL --  It was a close call Monday after a bear walked into a Bristol liquor store.
    The bear walked into Crazy Bruce's Discount Liquors on Route 6. The black bear made it through the front door, but an employee managed to lock the inside door so the bear couldn't get into the actual store.
    According to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, there have been 153 reported bear sightings in Bristol in the last year.

  • Alligator Hunting Allowed In North Carolina For First Time In 45 Years

    RALEIGH, N.C. (CBS Local) – For the first time in nearly five decades, a small group of hunters in North Carolina will be able to hunt alligators this year.
    The state’s Wildlife Resources Commission is allowing residents to hunt in Hyde County starting on Sept. 1, marking the first legal hunt in 45 years. There’s a big catch to this plan however: only 20 permits will be given out for the month-long hunt.

    SOUTH WINDSOR — Police say they’ve arrested and charged Benjamin Saxton, 18, of South Windsor, with arson.
    Police say the charges stem from an incident on July 4th where he shared a video of himself setting a fire to a small shed on town property.
