    MANCHESTER — A fire damaged a gas station/convenience store Sunday afternoon.
    Firefighters responded to the scene after receiving a phone call from the store clerk that  fire was coming from the back of the building.  Emergency crews Officials were concerned because a propane tank is also located in the back of the store.     NEW HAVEN — A woman has been charged with engaging officers in a pursuit for allegedly fleeing when police tried to pull her over two separate days, and crashing each time.

    NORTH STONINGTON — A Voluntown woman died Friday evening after she was in a car crash.
    Police said Jane Porter, 61, was driving north on Route 201 when her car struck another car head. The other car was traveling south.
    There was a driver and passenger in the other car. The passenger was transported to Backus Hospital for suspected minor injuries.
    Porter was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said the time of the crash was at dusk and the roadway was unlit.

  • Demolition crews tear down partially collapsed building in Hartford

    HARTFORD -- It was the beginning of a new era for Park street as crews torn down an old building Saturday.
    Onlookers of the demolition reminisced of what the building was like when people occupied it.
    "There used to be a bakery, right?" said Newington resident Benoit Simoneau. "It was good the cakes and stuff from homemade kind of. It was pretty good."
