    NEW BRITAIN — A former student teacher and assistant track coach at a Connecticut high school charged with having a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student has been admitted to a program that could lead to dismissal of the charges.
    The New Britain Herald reports that 23-year-old Taylor Boncal was granted accelerated rehabilitation by a judge on Thursday.

    It's another beautiful day out there today, with high temperatures in the lower 80s and abundant sunshine. In terms of humidity, it's very low today with dew points in the 40s. That doesn't happen too often in the month of July!
    We've been watching the tropics the last few days, as former Hurricane Chris (now a tropical storm) continues to move out of the area and into the North Atlantic. Other than some leftover rip currents on the ocean-facing beaches, it won't be a problem for us any more.

    GREENWICH —  Police have issued a Silver Alert for Catherine Hogan, 90, who was last seen earlier today.
    Greenwich police said her family reported her missing after she never returned home from shopping.
    Police said she 5’4” tall and weighs approximately 130 lbs. She has white hair and was last seen operating a Red Toyota Camry with CT registration 954-DRA.
