    Missing AttachmentEAST WINDSOR — The Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Tribes released Wednesday, an updated rendering of the East Windsor casino. The rendering was submitted to the town as a part of the local approval process.
    The proposed development will be a nearly 200,000 square foot facility with roughly 2,000 slot machines and 60 table games. Construction is slated to begin in the Fall of 2018, with an opening date tentatively scheduled for the Spring of 2020.

  • Baby hit by softball back home after nearly 7 weeks in hospital

    SHELL ROCK, Iowa –  A baby hit in the head by a softball during a game in May is out of the hospital and back home.
    McKenna Hovenga was 7 weeks old when she was hit with the ball while her dad was playing a softball game in Shell Rock, Iowa.
    She was transported to an area hospital before being flown to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, according to the Waverly Courier. She suffered skull fractures and two brain bleeds, as well as several seizures.

    STAMFORD — The death of a woman in an affluent Stamford neighborhood has been ruled a homicide.
    Police said Wednesday the victim is Eden Claxton. The husband of the woman,  Allen Claxton, who called 911 is being cooperative, according to police. He has been hospitalized.

    NEW YORK — A man bit off a piece of another man’s lip during a brawl inside of a subway station in Crown Heights over the weekend, police say.
