    WATERBURY -- A man was arrested Sunday after police say he ran over a group of geese intentionally, killing one.
    A spokesperson for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said at 8:19 a.m., Waterbury Police Department received a call from someone who said they saw a motorist drive over multiple Canada Geese on North Main Street in front of the Knotty Pine package store in Waterbury.  The witness said the suspect illegally passed two vehicles on the s

    Actor Vince Vaughn was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to authorities.
    Vaughn was stopped at a DUI checkpoint around 1 a.m. in Hermosa Beach outside of Los Angeles, according to Sgt. Matt Sabosky of the Manhattan Beach Police Department.
    The “Dodgeball” actor was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence and for resisting, delaying or obstructing officers, Sabosky said.

    WESTPORT — A funeral for a Connecticut state trooper who died of cancer at age 51 has been scheduled.
    Flags have been at half-staff across the state in honor of Trooper Walter Greene, who fell ill after responding to New York City following the attack on the World Trade Center.
    Services are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at the Sherwood Island State Park, the site of the state’s memorial to the victims of 9/11.
