    TORRINGTON --   The now former superintendent of Torrington Public Schools, Denise Clemons went on an international vacation in May and never returned to work without informing anyone.
    That forced the board of education to take quick action to decide what was to happen to her position.

    HARTFORD — Two events will take place Saturday in Hartford.
    The first event will be the Greek Festival starting 11 a.m. to midnight at 433 Fairfield Avenue. There will be live music, homemade Greek food, imports, authentic Greek dancing and guided church tours.

    MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. – A father in West Virginia is accused of putting his two toddlers in a dryer and recording videos of it.
    WTRF reported that Ryan James Barr, 24, of Moundsville, was arrested on a charge of child neglect with significant chance of bodily injury. He was jailed on a $50,000 bond.

    OKLAHOMA CITY – Police say a 3-year-old Oklahoma girl’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

    TWIGGS COUNTY, Ga. – Two Georgia parents have lost custody of their son after giving him marijuana to treat his seizures, according to WGXA.

    DENVER, Colo. - An Uber driver shot and killed a passenger on an interstate in Denver early Friday morning, police said.
    Denver police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Michael Andre Hancock.
    The shooting happened at about 2:47 a.m. as the vehicle passed over the University Boulevard bridge and forced the closure of southbound Interstate 25 for more than five hours.
