    SAN ANTONIO —Ray Allen, Steve Nash, Jason Kidd and Grant Hill are among the 13-member class that will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in September.
    The Hall of Fame made the announcement Saturday before the NCAA Final Four semifinals.

    LEDYARD  –  Police responding to domestic call say a Ledyard man assaulted one of their officers.
    On Thursday about 4:15 p.m., Ledyard police responded to a call for a domestic disturbance in town. They determined that 45 year old Patrick Girandola had slapped one person, and pushed another elderly person causing them to fall against a wall. Police arrested Girandola, and say that while he was being escorted to a cruiser, he began kicking the arresting officer.

    HARTFORD — A Connecticut man convicted of killing a 23-year-old woman has been sentenced to life in prison for what the judge called a despicable, cowardly, gruesome, unfeeling and uncaring crime.
    The Hartford Courant reports that 62-year-old Robert Graham, of Hartford, was sentenced Thursday during an emotional hearing in which he swore and taunted the victim’s family while maintaining his innocence.

    TOLLAND - Friends and family are mourning the loss of Trooper First Class Kevin Miller after he was tragically killed in a crash on I-84 eastbound Thursday afternoon.

    NEW HAVEN — A transportation commission is pushing a proposal aimed at spreading parking demand more evenly throughout New Haven.

    FORT WORTH, Texas – A woman in Texas was sentenced Wednesday to a five-year prison term for voting illegally in the 2016 presidential election while on supervised release for a tax fraud conviction.
    When she voted in the 2016 election, Crystal Mason had already served almost three years in prison for her fraud conviction but had not yet completed her sentence and was still serving a three-year supervised release period, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

    BATON ROUGE —  Baton Rouge Police Officer Blane Salamoni has been fired for violating use-of-force polices in the Alton Sterling shooting, Police Chief Murphy Paul told reporters Friday evening. Salamoni’s attorney indicated the officer will appeal the chief’s decision, Paul said.
    Paul said the other officer involved, Howie Lake II, will be suspended for three days without pay for losing his temper during the incident.

    However, one church in Hartford got an early start.
